WHEN I SAY IT IS EASY TO MAKE MAYO…I'M TALKING CRAZY EASY! CREAMY AND DELICIOUS TOO!
Buying mayo at the store will be a thing of the past. You'll want the nutritional value without all the preservatives. So let's do this!
WHAT YOU WILL NEED: (affiliate disclosure)
- 1 cup Extra Light Tasting Olive Oil (IMPORTANT-make sure you use light tasting instead of the full flavored oils.
- One Large Fresh Egg
- Juice from half a lemon or lime (2-3 tsp) OR you can use equivalent amount of Apple Cider Vinegar
- Pinch of Salt
- Immersion Blender – this is the one I have, and you will love this for many things!
- Tall Glass Jar w/hinged lid 32oz) or the one that comes with the blender will be fine.
- I store my mayo and other homemade condiments in either of these: 4oz glass jars or Glass Jars w/hinged lid
Put the oil, egg and lime/lemon juice in a tall jar (I use this one- Tall Glass Jar w/hinged lid 32oz)
Turn on the Immersion Blender, and watch the magic! Add a pinch of salt and mix. There you have it! Crazy good!
Now that you have the basic mayo recipe, you can spice up your mayo to just about anything you desire! A little goes a long way so add a small amount at a time. Check out some of these fabulous herbs and oils…
